London, UK - After announcing it would be stepping away from sexually explicit content, OnlyFans faced a torrent of angry voices who made it clear they felt used. Now, the platform is admitting to making the wrong call.

According to Vice, OnlyFans has decided to reverse its decision to stop profiting off of sexually explicit content.

Initially, the company said in a statement that the change was due to pressures "to comply with the requests of our banking partners and payout providers".

The announcement sparked anger and confusion from platform users and creators who felt they were being dumped with no notice.

Considering many made a big chunk or all of their income on the platform, the announcement was a major shock that resulted in social media being flooded with reminders that "sex work is work".

Many accused OnlyFans of using creators until the company got big enough to not need them anymore.

The latest Tweet from the company responded to the international ire by saying, "Thank you to everyone for making your voices heard. We have secured assurances necessary to support our diverse creator community and have suspended the planned October 1 policy change. OnlyFans stands for inclusion and we will continue to provide a home for all creators."

It's not yet clear how the company will go forward with the reversal or if it was able to negotiate with the banking partners who reportedly requested the change in content focus.
