And Just Like That: The cast reacts to Kim Cattrall's surprise return!
New York, New York - With the second season of And Just Like That (AJLT) near, Sarah Jessica Parker and the other stars are spilling the tea on Kim Cattrall's anticipated cameo.
Call it fate, destiny, or a freaking miracle!
Cattrall reprising her role as fan-favorite Samantha Jones on the Sex and the City TV revival is just what the show needed - seriously.
Many probably still have mixed feelings about the Max series having a season 2.
But, at the very least, there's hope that the SATC sparkle will help save the franchise thanks to the returns of Cattrall and John Corbett, aka Aiden Shaw.
That being said, it's time to get the dirt on how the SATC alums really feel about the return of the cheeky, sexually proud publicist.
Is there still bad blood? Here are the AJLT cast's reactions to Cattrall's surprise change of heart.
Sarah Jessica Parker
It's no secret that the Big Trouble in Little China star's initial refusal to reprise her role was related to her beef with SJP.
Though Carrie and Samantha are besties on SATC, in real life, the two ladies aren't exactly on good terms.
That being said, what did Parker have to say about Cattrall's brief cameo?
According to Entertainment Tonight, the Hocus Pocus star is "thrilled" for Samantha's return.
"I was really excited about the idea," she told the outlet.
"I thought it was a really good idea, and I was thrilled that, you know, we could make it happen and that it worked for her, and it's just really nice to see. It's really nice. I was really pleased."
Perhaps there's hope for reconciliation here after all?
Kristin Davis
Kristin Davis, who plays Charlotte York-Goldenblatt, also acknowledged that fans "missed" the outspoken feminist character.
But, per The Daily Mail, Davis shared that Cattrall's cameo doesn't mean that there's "closure" regarding the rumored "feud."
"I don't know that we're even trying for closure at this point, or resolution," Davis shared.
"I think we just thought, you know, here is, you know, our character who's been gone. And we know people miss her, and Carrie misses her."
From this SATC alum's perspective, it sounds like things are still shaky between the cast.
Cynthia Nixon
Cynthia Nixon, who portrays Miranda Hobbs, also seemed to hint that this may be a one-and-done deal for Cattrall.
First, Nixon shared with The Wrap that she was "disappointed" that news about Cattrall's surprise cameo leaked.
Yet in another interview with Vanity Fair, she spilled that the cast often "walked on eggshells" around Cattrall while filming SATC and admitted the AJLT set felt "different."
"But the main thing that felt so great was that everybody who was there really wanted to be there. That's just the bottom line," the 57-year-old star said.
Season 2 of And Just Like That airs on Max June 22!
