Louisville, Kentucky - Twitter user Great Ape Dad couldn't believe his eyes when he saw this sign at the drive-thru of his local McDonald's.

The customer was on his way to get his wife the BTS meal inspired by the K-pop sensation when he discovered the restaurant was closed. He was greeted by a dramatic note pinned to the drive-thru counter.

"We are closed because I am quitting and I hate this job," it read and left Great Ape Dad speechless.

This was no joke, as the location really had shut up shop. The user had to go home empty-handed – but not without taking a photo of the curious sight first.

On Monday, he uploaded the picture to his Twitter account and landed a viral hit, with more than 200,000 likes and 20,000 retweets comments in only a few days.

Many users were able to understand the strange notice and felt sorry for the former employee, as they were certain that they had worked there under horrible conditions.

"As someone who works at one, kudos to that person for standing up for themselves and getting out of there," one of them wrote, while another added, "Can't blame them."

Shortly after, Great Ape Dad uploaded a second photo to his account that he took one week earlier.

It's from the same drive-thru that had, once again, put a sign on the counter

"Ice creem, shackes, frappas, smoothys, and slushys are all out of order," it read and might have been a first clue as to why the employee decided to quit.

In another tweet, the user expressed some sympathy for the former crew member.

"Workers were already stretched to their limits before the pandemic. Of course people are going to break down under these conditions."
