After coming out as transgender: Elliot Page thanks fans
Canada - Actor Elliot Page says he is grateful for his fans' support since he came out as transgender.
"Your love and support has been the greatest gift," the 33-year-old wrote in his Instagram post on Sunday. In the description, the actor also urged people: "Stay safe. Be there for each other."
Elliot Page also calls for those who can to support two groups that help transgender people: Trans Lifeline, a support and emergency hotline, and Transanta, a project that organizes Christmas gifts for transgender youth in need.
This Instagram post is the first time the actor has spoken publicly since he announced his coming out as Elliot on social media in early December.
The Canadian rose to fame after starring in the 2007 movie Juno. Elliot has been married to the dancer Emma Portner since 2018.
Last year, he took a lead role in Netflix's adaptation of the comic book The Umbrella Academy.
