When you pop open a well-shaken champagne bottle, the cork can travel at speeds as high as 25 miles per hour. The world record for fastest champagne cork, however, was a whopping 7.1 miles per second – though this was achieved in a X2 expansion tube at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia.
