Plane crashes into California highway and bursts into flames in shocking video
Corona, California - An airplane crash-landed on a California highway on Tuesday, as the plane rammed into a car and burst into flames.
The outcome of Tuesday's accident was nothing short of a miracle, as no one was injured after the huge malfunction.
A six-seater Piper Cherokee plane ran into engine trouble and had to make an emergency landing at 12:30 PM on the eastbound 91 in Corona.
The plane hit a Toyota Tundra pickup truck on the busy road, causing minor damage, but did not injure the driver, officials confirmed.
The pilot and passenger of the aircraft also walked away unharmed.
As per shocking videos, the plane was captured by motorists clipping a wall, bouncing to a stop, and bursting into flames.
Just five minutes after the crash, the Corona Fire Department was on the scene and began firefighting efforts to extinguish the flame.
Traffic came to a standstill on the highway, but roads were fully reopened later in the day.
Plane was said to be 50 years old
The small single-engine plane was on its way to the Corona airport in the southern California, about 43 miles southwest of LA.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating the abrupt landing and confirmed that "the pilot reported an engine issue."
Users on social media have speculated that the pilot may have run out of fuel.
The Piper Cherokee was 50 years old, and owned by a company in Anaheim.
It follows another major accident in the LA area earlier this week, in which a car plowed into an intersection at full speed and burst into flames, killing six.
