Kenny Chesney responds after tragic death of fan at Denver concert

Denver, Colorado - Country music star Kenny Chesney says he is "devastated" after his concert over the weekend ended with the tragic death of a fan.

According to a tweet from the Denver Police Department, a woman died from injuries sustained from a fall while sitting on an escalator railing after Chesney's concert at Empower Field at Mile High stadium in Denver, Colorado, on Saturday.

There was no foul play involved and the tragedy is being investigated as an accident. The identity of the victim, her age, and details about the fall have not been released.

In a statement to The Denver Post on Sunday, Chesney said: "I was devastated to learn of the loss of someone after our show. There had been so much joy, so much heart coming from the people of Denver last night - and to hear this is heartbreaking."

"Life is precious. Sharing music brings us together and that love we share makes us so much more. For the lady who came to share that love, there are no words. For her friends and family’s loss, I grieve with them and for them."

Empower Field also reacted to the incident, saying: "We extend our deepest sympathies to the loved ones of the woman involved in the tragic incident."

Kenny Chesney is currently touring for his Here and Now tour, which wraps up on August 27.
