Lloyd is walked away from the national team as a winner, after the USWNT routed South Korea 6-0 on Wednesday.

Although she didn’t score a goal, she was the focal point in the friendly match and soaked up the adulation from the 18,000-strong crowd.

After making her first appearance with the US National Team 16 years ago, Lloyd has played in 316 matches, the second-most international appearances of all time.

She was subbed out in the 65th minute against South Korea, to a standing ovation while being embraced by teammate Megan Rapinoe, finishing with a tribute to her husband by revealing a jersey that bore his name, "Hollins."

"I hope that you know that I gave it everything that I had for every single one of you," Lloyd said, addressing the crowd on the field after the match.

While she still has a little bit of domestic soccer with the NWSL’s Gotham FC, ahead of her this year, she leaves the international game with her name listed among soccer’s best along with some records in her possession.

With the USWNT, Lloyd has scored 134 goals, third-most in the history of the women's team. She’s also got two World Cup crowns and two Olympic Gold medals.

In total, Lloyd has scored 10 goals in Olympic play, spread out over four individual Games, more than any other US player.

Her last tournament appearance was back during the 2020 Tokyo games where her two goals helped the United States win the bronze medal over Australia.

Later this year, Lloyd will finish off her current pro season in two remaining matches with Gotham FC.
