The third-ranked Crimson Tide escaped with a huge, hard-fought 24-22 win in four overtimes over the Tigers for their sixth-straight victory.

Unranked Auburn closes its season with a four-game skid for a final record of 6-6.

With the way Alabama played throughout most of the game, this matchup could and should have belonged to the Tigers.

The Tide were shutout through the first 51 minutes of the game, but the Tigers could only score 10 points themselves, leaving the door open for a potential Alabama comeback.

Sure enough, the Tide finally got on the scoreboard with a field goal midway through the fourth quarter and then fought constantly on every drive thereafter before finally scoring a game-tying TD with only seconds to spare in regulation.

It took some back-and-forth battling by both teams before the Tide made a defensive stand in the fourth overtime period, followed by a score to pull the win out of the fire.

Alabama’s sophomore quarterback Bryce Young (20) didn’t have one of his best games, but he still led the Tide to the win on Saturday.

He somehow still managed to throw over 300 yards, despite his offense being held off of the scoreboard for more than three quarters.

And through such an ugly game offensively, he still outgained twice as many yards as the entire Auburn offense.

Young finished the night with 25-for-51 passing, 317 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.

Alabama has earned an SEC championship matchup against the top-ranked team in the nation, the Georgia Bulldogs.

The Tide, who are the defending national champions, will also look to have some more football ahead of them after that, but they’ll have to wait until December to see if they’ve earned a selection for January’s college football playoffs.

On Saturday, the third-ranked Crimson Tide will play against the first-ranked Bulldogs in the 2021 SEC championship in Atlanta, Georgia.
