MLB: Yankees woes continue as the AL Champs shut out the Bronx Bombers
Tampa Bay, Florida - After a disappointing loss Friday night to the defending AL Champion Tampa Bay Rays, the Yankees tried to bounce back last night – only to suffer more misery.
The Yankees were held in check for most of the game, only getting occasional hits. They just couldn't cash in any runs from any of that action, as the Rays handed them their third straight loss, 4-0.
Tampa has seemed to have the Yankees' number recently. They've beaten New York all but twice since the beginning of last season, even knocking the Yanks out of last year's playoffs.
Tampa Bay got their offense going early, scoring all four of their runs by the end of the third inning. Randy Arozarena (26) and Austin Matthews (25) both had solo home runs, powering the Rays to their shutout win.
Yankees superstar Aaron Judge came back to the team after sitting out the last two games with an injury. Unfortunately, he struck out twice with his only hit coming in the fifth inning, the last Yankee hit of the game.
These two teams finish up their series Sunday afternoon, with a 1:10 PM first pitch.
