NFL: Who will advance to Super Bowl LVII?
Glendale, Arizona - Only four NFL teams remain in the hunt for a trip to Super Bowl LVII to bring home the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
The San Francisco 49ers are set to face the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship Game, and the Kansas City Chiefs will suit up against the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship!
The winners of each conference title matchup will then battle it out at the Super Bowl on February 12.
The NFC and AFC title showdowns features three teams that advanced to conference championships last season. The Eagles are the fresh faces in the championship round, replacing reigning Super Bowl Champions, the Los Angeles Rams.
Looking ahead at the AFC and NFC title games, here are the biggest things to watch out for in each conference matchup!
NFC Championship: Philadelphia Eagles vs. San Francisco 49ers
The NFC Championship will be a showcase of the conference's best offense against the NFL's best defense!
Led by their third-string quarterback Brock Purdy on offense, the 49ers will be ready for a show with tight end George Kittle, wide receiver Deebo Samuel, and running back Christian McCaffrey looking to link up with the rookie QB for scoring drives.
The team's defense is expected to show up once more and prove why the 49ers are said to have the best defense in the league.
Edge rusher Nick Bosa currently leads the NFL in sacks this season, and cornerback James Bradberry leads all cornerbacks with the fewest yards per coverage snap allowed.
On the opposite side of the field, the Eagles have a slightly more experienced quarterback who has been nothing short of outstanding this season.
And while Jalen Hurts did sustain a shoulder injury during the regular season, he showed no signs of setbacks after securing three touchdowns in Philadelphia's 38-7 win over the New York Giants.
Hurts will rely on the Eagles' star-studded lineup of wide receivers featuring DeVonta Smith and AJ Brown, and tight end Dallas Goedert to lead the team's offense.
AFC Championship: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Cincinnati Bengals
This year's AFC Championship matchup will be an exciting rematch of last year's game where the Bengals defeated the Chiefs to advance to the Super Bowl.
While quarterback Joe Burrow and the Bengals' offense had an outstanding showing last year, the Kansas City Chiefs are the favorites to win, though quarterback Patrick Mahomes is playing through injury.
Mahomes and the Chiefs held off the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-20 on Sunday, all while the star QB played through a high-grade ankle sprain. The Super Bowl champion completed 22 of 30 passes for 195 yards and two passing touchdowns.
Burrow will enter the big matchup on a three-game win streak against Mahomes, and is currently the only quarterback to beat the Chiefs quarterback in three consecutive meetings.
The NFC Championship featuring the Philadelphia Eagles and the San Francisco 49ers is set for Sunday at 3 PM EST on Fox, and the AFC Championship with the Cincinnati Bengals and the Kansas City Chiefs will kick off at 6:30 PM EST on CBS.
