Houston, Texas - Deshaun Watson has barely made a peep ever since the ongoing sexual assault scandal engulfed him in March, but this past Thursday, the 25-year-old finally broke his silence with the media.

The tone definitely caught everyone off-guard though, as he showed little restraint when addressing the group of journalists who were lucky enough to get a good glimpse of him.

"Why y'all always filming me every day? It's the same s***," he snapped at the various members of the media.

Watson was kept away from any and all journalists by team officials since rejoining the Texans at the start of training camp. He’s also been on somewhat of a self-imposed vow of silence ever since the news originally broke of his alleged sexual misconduct, which has evolved over time into 22 civil lawsuits filed against him.

Avoiding the media as much as possible might’ve worked in the past for past NFL players, à la Marshawn Lynch, but the former Seahawks star never had such a big cloud looming over his head.

On one hand, yes, anyone would get annoyed with this kind of attention, sooner or later. But with a situation like Watson’s, ultimately guilty or not, he has to know that this kind of sticky situation will rightly get you a high level of media focus.

While it seems he’s not close to being traded anywhere, Watson will at least remain off the football field in the near future, including being benched for the Texans’ first preseason game on Saturday night against the Packers.
