Mile high Russ! Russell Wilson is heading to the Denver Broncos
Denver, Colorado – The Russell Wilson era for the Seattle Seahawks is reportedly over.
After nearly a decade as the quarterback for the Seahawks, Wilson is heading to the Denver Broncos in what ESPN's Adam Schefter called "one of the largest trades in NFL history."
Shortly after news broke that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was officially staying in Green Bay, reports emerged of a major trade involving Wilson, the Seahawks, and the Broncos.
According to ESPN, Denver has agreed to trade a number of key players like quarterback Drew Lock and five draft picks to Seattle in exchange for Wilson.
The draft picks will be two first-round, two second-round, and one fifth round pick.
The trade is contingent upon a physical and the 33-year-old QB's approval. Should Wilson accept, the move won't be made official until the league year starts on March 16.
Though he wasn't the only quarterback the Broncos had eyes on in the offseason, Wilson might prove to be the missing piece to the franchise's post-Peyton Manning puzzle.
Since Manning retired in 2016, the Broncos have used 11 different starting quarterbacks, with Lock being one of them.
In addition to Lock, the Seahawks will also acquire Broncos tight end Noah Fant and defensive lineman Shelby Harris.
During his 10-season tenure with the Seahawks, Wilson garnered Super Bowl appearances, one Super Bowl win, and nine Pro Bowl selections.
Wilson has yet to comment on the reported trade news.
