Aaron Rodgers skipped out on a mandatory minicamp with the Packers for the first time in his career
Green Bay, Wisconsin – The hope for Aaron Rodgers' return as the staring quarterback for the Green Bay Packers is diminishing yet again after the team's star player failed to appear at a mandatory minicamp for the first time in nearly two decades.
Things are not looking good for the Green Bay Packers and its apathetic efforts to keep Aaron Rodgers healthy, happy, and on the team.
For the first time in 16 years, Rodgers (37) didn't show up to the team's mandatory pre-season minicamp on Tuesday morning.
His lack of appearance at a required team event officially made him a holdout, further prolonging the likely announcement of his departure from the team as a whole.
Rumors have been swirling for months about Rodgers' alleged desire to get out of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and take his talents out west. But the Hall-of-Famer has yet to comment on his intentions, at least not in a public way.
But actions speak louder than words, and Rodgers not showing up was a huge indicator of what his future holds.
For now, the Packers have the option to fine their current starting quarterback for missing the event, and for any future absences that he might accrue.
While Rodgers' absence from the minicamp is alarming, the real red flag will come if he opts out of the team's training camp in July.
But the MVP doesn't seem too concerned about his business on the field or within the NFL at all. Rather, he's been letting his hair down by galavanting to Hawaii and Disney World with his actor fiancé Shailene Woodley (29).
It's a toss-up whether the Green Bay Packers will release Rodgers for his antics or if the franchise will figure out how to muster up a deal to make its longtime quarterback happy.
