What Georgia football needs to win back-to-back national titles
Los Angeles, California - The Georgia Bulldogs will fight to make College Football Playoff history as the first team to win back-to-back CFP National Championship titles!
Reigning national champions Georgia is set to play in the big CFP National Championship game after just barely beating Ohio State in the Peach Bowl by a single point.
If the Bulldogs play like they did against the Buckeyes, they can chef's kiss another national title goodbye!
While head coach Kirby Smart has been praised for coaching the nation's best team in the semifinal over the weekend, the Dawgs didn't live up to their No. 1 status despite getting the win.
Showing major flaws in the Peach Bowl, Georgia's defense will need to tighten up against TCU's quarterback Max Duggan and the rough and tough Horned Frog offense.
In the Fiesta Bowl, the Horned Frogs scored a massive 51 points to secure the win over Michigan. While Georgia is projected to be a better team, TCU's semifinal victory over the Wolverines demonstrated their amazing ability to score!
If Georgia can sharpen their defense from their Peach Bowl performance and stop TCU from scoring, they will be in a better position to top the scoreboard in the final moments of the National Championship game.
Georgia will need a healthy team to defeat TCU
More than anything, in order for Georgia to defeat the Horned Frogs, they will need a healthy team!
Prior to the Peach Bowl showdown against Ohio State, the Bulldogs roster was hit with major injuries as their top receiver Ladd McConkey and right tackle Warren McClendon suffered knee issues following the SEC Championship.
Georgia has only expanded its list of injured players, adding tight end Darnell Washington and linebacker Chaz Chambliss following the Bulldogs' Peach Bowl win.
While coach Smart has expressed hope for the return of many injured Georgia players, he also made no promises that all will be available in time for the championship game.
Georgia will face TCU in the College Football Playoff National Championship game on January 9 at 7:30 PM EST at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
