When the Ohio State Buckeyes walk int Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Saturday for their Playoff matchup, they will do so with greater injury troubles than the Georgia Bulldogs.

All season long, the Buckeyes have struggled with a slew of injuries in the running back and wide receiver room!

If Ohio State wants to upset the reigning national champions Georgia, they will need big performances from their offensive players!

Leading receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba and running back TreVeyon Henderson are officially out of the semifinal with injury, and Smith-Njigba is also trying to prepare for the NFL Draft.

Ohio State will have to rely on many of their second and third string players when it comes to creating top-scoring plays.

On the other side of the ball, Georgia's top players are also battling some injuries.

Georgia receiver Ladd McConkey and right tackle Warren McClendon are two leading Bulldogs that previously dealt with injuries that kept them out of their Peach Bowl practices.

While updates regarding both McConkey and McClendon have yet to be publicly announced, Georgia will have backup players ready to put on a show if the Bulldogs' leading players are forced to sit out with injury.

Will Dallan Hayden and Cade Stover have a breakout performances for the Buckeyes?

Ravaged by injuries all year, freshman running back Dallan Hayden has stepped up as a key figure in the Buckeyes' offense!

With leading rushers Henderson and Miyan Williams inconsistently on game rosters all season due to injury, Hayden took advantage of being the only reliable tailback, earning 510 rushing yards and five touchdowns.

If Hayden is the healthiest running back available – as he was all season – he could have a massive day for the Buckeyes on New Year's Eve.

Ohio State will need to establish a good running game to avoid its Heisman caliber quarterback CJ Stroud from getting roughed up in the pocket by Georgia's defense.

As for the passing game, receivers Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka will get a ton of attention from the Bulldogs' secondary.

Using tight end Cade Stover, the senior athlete can help relieve Harrison and Egbuka from Georgia's tough defense.

Stover will need to be a reliable part of the Buckeyes passing game, so that Stroud can challenge Georgia's weaker secondary players and confuse the Bulldogs on defense.

Stover showed spurts of greatness this season with a pair of two-touchdown games. He had at least two receptions in all but one Ohio State game.

Darnell Washington can make big plays for Georgia

Just like Harrison and Egbuka of Ohio State will get a lot of attention from Georgia's secondary, most of Ohio State's defense will focus on receivers Ladd McConkey (if he plays), Brock Bowers, and Kenny McIntosh.

With this being the case, quarterback Stetson Bennett can target tight end Darnell Washington as a playmaker!

Washington has the potential to be a vital asset in the red zone and on third down when Bennett needs to hit a big target across the middle to confuse the Buckeyes' defense.

The 6-foot-7 junior posted notable stats this season including touchdown receptions against Mississippi State and in the SEC Championship Game against the LSU Tigers.

Washington may not lead the Bulldogs in receiving yards during the CFP semifinal bowl game, but he's likely to have a few important catches in the showdown against the Buckeyes.
