College football: Egg Bowl rivalry divides Mississippi Thanksgiving tables
Oxford, Mississippi - This year’s college football Egg Bowl is sure to be another thrilling affair as the Mississippi State Bulldogs look to take down the Ole Miss Rebels and reclaim the Egg Bowl trophy for the first time since 2019.
It's that time of year again!
The turkey is seasoned on the table, the pies are fresh out of the oven, and many households in Mississippi are divided thanks to the gridiron's annual Egg Bowl!
In one of the most thrilling in-state rivalries in all of college football, the Mississippi State Bulldogs and the Ole Miss Rebels will fight for this season's bragging rights as the best team in the state of Mississippi and take home the coveted Golden Egg Trophy.
The Rebels will welcome the Bulldogs following an unexpected 42-27 loss to Arkansas last week, while Mississippi State is coming off of a huge win against East Tennessee.
Led by record-breaking running back Quinshon Judkins – who secured his spot in the Rebels' history books for racking up the most rushing yards in a single season last Saturday – will be one of Ole Miss' hottest players on the field to spotlight in big plays.
On #TeamBulldogs, running back Jo'quavious Marks is nothing short of impressive.
The Junior rusher has caught a pass in the last 34 consecutive games – the longest active streak in the SEC.
Saturday, Marks will look to break the program record (35) set by Fred Ross from 2013-16. He has had at least one reception in every game of his collegiate career and won't look to stop any time soon.
Ole Miss currently leads the all-time series with a 64-45-6 record and hopes to win their third consecutive Egg Bowl title since 2004. The big Egg Bowl showdown is set for Thursday at 7PM EST.
