The Warriors beat the Grizzlies 113-104 on Thursday night for their second-straight win and fifth victory over the last six games.

Memphis is now on a three-game skid after previously winning five straight.

Golden State got off to an unusually slow start in this matchup, trailing the Grizzlies by four after one quarter.

But then the Warriors got into a groove during the second and pulled within one, trailing 53-52 at the half.

The action stayed close during the third quarter, but the Warriors did just enough to hold a small, one-point advantage after three.

The Grizzlies ran out of gas along with time, as they couldn’t put up enough points in the fourth quarter to catch Golden State in the end.

The Warriors have spent the better part of this season in a back-and-forth battle with the Suns for the league’s best record.

They sit at 26-6, right behind Phoenix who sits at the top of the mountain with a record of 26-5.

They’ve split their first two matchups so far, but their next game against each other is on Christmas Day, where a win by the Warriors will put them back on top.

On Saturday, the Warriors will be on the road against the Suns, while the Grizzlies are back in action on Sunday, with a road game against the Kings.
