NBA: Brooklyn Nets bounce back with win over T'Wolves in match rescheduled due to unrest
Minneapolis, Minnesota - The Nets got a huge win against the Timberwolves, while the push for civil justice in the Minneapolis area goes on.
Pro sports resumed in the Minneapolis area Tuesday night, as the Nets and T'Wolves played each other a night later than originally scheduled.
Their game was meant to be played on Monday night. However, an already tense atmosphere in Minneapolis due to the trial of Derek Chauvin was supercharged after the police shooting of Daunte Wright in the neighboring town of Brooklyn Center.
As a result, the NBA decided Monday night to postpone the matchup between Brooklyn and Minnesota. At the rescheduled game, several players from both teams showed solidarity with protesters by wearing warmup shirts that read "With liberty and justice for all."
In the end, Kevin Durant (32) and the Nets won big 127-97, shaking off the surprisingly heavy loss they suffered this past Saturday night, against the LeBron-less Lakers.
Durant had his best game since late January, dropping 31 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. Joe Harris was the next-highest scorer for the Nets, also adding 3 rebounds and 3 assist to stat totals for the game.
For Minnesota, Anthony Edwards scored 27 points and grabbed 8 rebounds, in Karl-Anthony Towns' absence. And D’Angelo Russell managed to contribute 15 points off the bench, but it was nowhere near enough to keep up with Brooklyn this time.
On Wednesday, The Nets head to Philly to face the 76ers, for command of the Eastern Conference, while the T'Wolves host the Bucks.

Meanwhile, the Clippers got over the Pacers 126-115, while the Hawks held on against the Raptors 108-103.
The Lakers got back in the win column by outlasting the Hornets 101-93.
In Salt Lake City, the Jazz got back to winning ways, with a 106-96 victory over the Thunder.
The Suns were hotter than the Heat, winning 106-86.
And the Celtics made it four in a row behind Jayson Tatum's 32 points as they narrowly defeated Portland 116-115.
On Wednesday, the Knicks take on the Pelicans, and the Nuggets host the Heat.
