Can Xavier remain undefeated ahead of the Big East tournament?

Cincinnati, Ohio - With a perfect 7-0 winning streak in the Big East Conference, can Xavier basketball maintain its dominance as the team draws closer to championship season?

Coming off of their 11th-straight win this season, every week Xavier has found a way to win – and big!

Nearly taking down every major competitor in the Big East, the Musketeers secured huge wins over top-ranked UConn, Providence, and Marquette.

While Xavier will have to face these three teams again – beginning with No. 15 UConn on January 25 – the Musketeers look good as the sole undefeated team in the Big East with conference championships less than two months away.

The last time Xavier was crowned as regular-season champions occurred in 2018. That same year, the program made its most recent NCAA tournament appearance.

Last year, the Musketeers finished the season eighth in the conference championship tournament, ending any hope of a league title after a first-round loss to Butler.

Under the leadership of Sean Miller following his return to Xavier last March after coaching the program from 2004-2009, the Musketeers are in top shape to earn its first conference title and an automatic bid into March Madness since 2006.

If the program can maintain a strong finish for the rest of the regular season, the Musketeers will surely be on their way to March Madness glory.

However, Xavier must get through the rest of its conference foes untouched, which may not be easy given the team will face its biggest competitor in UConn later this month.

On Wednesday, Xavier looks to continue its Big East dominance against DePaul on the road at 8:30 PM EST.
