The drama unfolded on Instagram when someone accused Wilson’s ex-girlfriend, Abby Giles, of being a "homie hopper," when it was announced she is dating Washington Commanders wide receiver, Dax Milne, a former teammate of Wilson’s at BYU.

In her defense, Giles replied to the comment revealing in an Instagram comment that while dating Wilson, the Jets' star was sleeping with his own mother's best friend – yikes!

Like moths to a flame, the Jets team came flying in on Twitter sharing their own thoughts on Wilson's situation.

Jets' offensive tackle Mekhi Becton posted a Terrell Owens "that’s my quarterback" meme, adding exclamation point and crying-laughing emojis.

Cornerback Ahmad "Sauce" Gardner, who was selected No. 4 overall by the Jets in the 2022 NFL Draft, quote-tweeted Becton's post with a meme that showed a smiling photo of Juwan Howard, the head coach for the Michigan men’s basketball team.

Keeping the momentum, Jets receiver Elijah Moore wrote, "No cap!" in a quote-tweet by former wide-receiver Chad Johnson, who chimed in with: "Zach Wilson is the [goat]."

Wilson's mother, Lisa Neeleman, had posted an emotional, nearly 30-minute-long Instagram video Sunday decrying the evils of social media and online predators, although it's unclear whether this was in any way related to the scandal.

Zach Wilson, who ironically played for the BYU Cougars in college, has most recently been romantically linked to influencer Nicolette Dellanno. The rumored couple attended a Yankees game in the Bronx last month, when New York defeated the Rays 4-3.
