Will Kyrie Irving's trade from the Nets to the Mavericks pay off?

Dallas, Texas - Now that NBA athlete Kyrie Irving plans to turn the page on his past with the Brooklyn Nets, will his trade to the Dallas Mavericks pay off?

As part of the biggest trade of the season, Irving is set to head to Dallas and is expected to suit up for the Mavericks as early as Wednesday night.

The eight-time All-Star guard is one of the most talented ball players in the league, and the Mavs' fans couldn't have asked for a better player than Irving, considering the huge price it cost the franchise.

To acquire Irving, Dallas lost an unprotected first-round pick, two second-round picks, and two starters. Though this may seem like a huge loss to some, the Mavericks believe the NBA champion has the potential to lead the franchise to their own NBA championship alongside star Luka Dončić.

Currently, the Mavs are ninth offensively and only have the best offense in the league when Dončić balls out on the court. Without the star, the team struggles big time!

When Dončić sat out this season, Dallas compiled a 0-7 record as they lacked a dominant offensive player to help build momentum for the offense.

But this is where the 30-year-old veteran can help pick up the pace for the Mavs and turnaround their slow offense whenever Dončić needs a rest or is ruled out for any given reason.

Trading Spencer Dinwiddie for Irving gives the Mavericks one less talented ball-handler, which is a major need for the team.

With the addition of Irving, though, Dallas will surely gain more than what they lost as he likes to ball out on the court!

So far in the 2022-23 season, the former Nets guard averaged 27.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 5.3 assists on the hardwood.

And as long as he can run the show, Irving just might be the missing piece to the Mavericks' offensive puzzle and the help Dončić desperately needs.

Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither was this Dallas team. With Dončić and Irving set to lead the Mavericks, the duo is sure to create the best offense in the league!
