UCF Football lands highest-ranked commit ever with John Walker!
Kissimmee, Florida - UCF's football program made history Thursday evening as four-star athlete John Walker pledged to the Knights, becoming their highest-ranked player.
The University of Central Florida scored the biggest recruiting coup in the school's history on Thursday night as it landed John Walker, a four-star defensive lineman who is in the overall top 100 and ranks 11 in his position nationally.
A Florida native, Walker chose UCF over four finalists: Michigan, Ohio State, Miami Hurricanes, and Florida Gators.
"I decided to commit to UCF like three months ago," Walker said about his decision to UCF football. "I feel like this is home, and this is the school for me. I can see myself playing here the whole time."
Verified at 6-foot-3 and 310 lbs, Walker is a force to be reckoned with on the field. In his junior year campaign, Walker garnered All-State recognition after a season of 77 tackles and 13 sacks.
The same season, Walker helped his team at Osceola High School to a 9-3 record and a second round appearance in Florida’s 8A playoffs, alongside fellow blue-chip defensive teammate Derrick Leblanc.
In addition to making school history as the highest-ranked football commit, Walker's pledge, along with that of twin linebackers Andrew and Michael Harris, marks the first time that UCF has signed multiple four-star athletes in the same recruiting class.
