Ohio State scores huge coup as wide receiver Jeremiah Smith commits!
Columbus, Ohio - Ohio State's run of elite wide receivers isn’t ending anytime soon, as Jeremiah Smith, the nation's best wide receiver, made his commitment.
Less than a week away from signing one of the best pass-catchers there, the Buckeyes landed another huge commitment from Smith.
The five-star athlete, who ranks as the second-best prospect in the class of 2024 behind fellow Buckeye commit Dylan Raiola, picked Ohio State over Alabama, Florida, Miami, and others.
A junior out of Chaminade-Madonna Preparatory, Smith's highlights on the field have been compared to former Ohio State greats like Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, and Paris Campbell.
This season, the 6-foot-3, wideout caught 58 passes for 1,073 yards and 20 touchdowns, including a one-handed "catch of the year" worthy grab in the Florida state championship title game.
As a sophomore, the talented player became his team's second-leading receiver, posting 31 catches for 667 yards and seven touchdowns.
His best game of that season came during the state championship showdown against Tampa Berkley, during which he racked up 172 yards and a touchdown to lead his Chaminade-Madonna Prep team to a title victory.
With Smith's pledge, Ohio State now has the No. 1 and No. 2 overall best players in the nation in the 2024 recruiting cycle.
