Ohio State adds another top recruit as four-star Jason Moore commits
Hyattsville, Maryland - The Ohio State Buckeyes added another big time prospect as four-star defensive player Jason Moore joined the top-ranked 2023 recruiting class.
Already heading into the college football season with one of the top overall 2023 recruiting classes, head coach Ryan Day and the Ohio State football program aren't resting on their laurels.
Defensive lineman Jason Moore will now be gearing up for the Scarlet & Gray after becoming their 18th overall commitment of the 2023 cycle on Sunday evening.
As one of the overall athletes of his class, Moore is currently the No. 5 defensive end and No. 53 ranked player in the nation.
Standing at 6-foot-6 and 255-pounds, he is not the first big-time defensive lineman to go from DeMatha, Maryland to play for Ohio State's defensive line coach Larry Johnson. Buckeye alum Chase Young, who now plays for the NFL's Washington Commanders, had the same career trajectory.
That made Moore's decision a lot easier as he hopes to follow in Young's footsteps, turning down a long list of offers from the likes of Notre Dame, Penn State, Maryland, and Buckeye's rival Michigan.
With Moore's commitment, the Buckeyes have reclaimed the No. 1 overall spot from Notre Dame in national recruiting rankings for 2023.
