Free agent Richard Sherman was arrested and booked at 6:08 AM on Wednesday for burglary domestic violence, according to public records.

The NFL star cornerback was also denied bail, which is standard for cases of domestic violence, until the suspect appears before a judge.

CBS News reported police were called to a residence in Redmond, Washington around 2 AM. The occupants told law enforcement that an adult male – allegedly Sherman – was trying to force entry into the home.

After officers arrived at the scene, they located and detained the suspect using a K-9 dog, noting he was uncooperative and combative during their encounter.

Sherman is also a main suspect in another crime that occurred on the same night.

According to ESPN, at 1 AM on Wednesday morning, a single-car accident was reported involving a car registered in Sherman's name, which hit a concrete barrier and was abandoned in a nearby parking lot.

While attempting to track down the suspect with a warrant for his blood to test for any substances, Washington Police then made contact with the Redmond Police Department to aid in the search.

Thanks to the 911 call reporting the disturbance, law enforcement was able to locate and arrest Sherman on-site.

No one was injured in either occurrence.

The investigation into the burglary domestic violence and hit-and-run is still ongoing, and Sherman has yet to be criminally charged in either case.
