Troy Bowles, the No. 2 linebacker in the Class of 2023 and son of Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles, has committed to the Georgia Bulldogs football program.

Todd Bowles was a standout football player, winning Super Bowl championships as an athlete, executive, and coach. Now, his son Troy has the potential to be even better.

The younger Bowles, a four-star prospect, is the No. 37 overall player in the nation. His announcement that he will join Georgia's program makes him the 14th commitment in the 2023 Georgia class.

No. 6 Georgia made a significant ranking jump among the nation's top teams, bumping up three spots and passing Tennessee, LSU, and Miami in the process.

As the son of a former NFL defensive coordinator, Troy Bowles has successfully played all over the field on Jesuit High School defense in Tampa. In his three seasons, Troy racked up 271 tackles in 40 games while playing safety, linebacker and edge rusher.

In his latest season, he earned second team MaxPreps Junior All-American status after recording 103 tackles, six tackles for loss, four pass break-ups, and three sacks. With Troy's help, Tampa Jesuit went 15-0 and won Florida’s Class 6A championship, the program’s first state title in 53 years.

Troy will look to replicate his 2021 season as he enters his final high school season before officially joining the Bulldogs. His father Todd will enter his first season as Buccaneers head coach this fall after serving as their defensive coordinator under Bruce Arians the last three years.
