Miami, Florida - A server at a restaurant in the Miami area didn't realize she was waiting on NBA star Ja Morant when he gave her a $500 tip.

Morant can afford to tip that high. After all, the 22-year-old signed his $193-million contract extension with the Memphis Grizzlies last week.

A videographer who works with the athlete had the camera rolling when the exchange occurred.

The footage is included in the third episode of Morant's new YouTube documentary. The clip is going viral because of the server's touching reaction.

At first, the unsuspecting woman is speechless. As she looks at the bill, seemingly confused, Morant asks if she has read the tip correctly. That sparks a conversation between the two, and the woman wants to know more about her guest.

After Morant jokes that he's "Black Jesus," he admits that he plays basketball.

"You gonna go into the NBA?" the server asks. "I'm already in there," the 6-foot-9 giant replies.

Server is stunned when she realizes who the customer is

When Morant reveals that he plays for the Grizzlies, the server's mouth drops open. One of Morant's friends jokes that the Grizzlies are now her "new favorite team."

The server wants to know more and asks, "What's your name?" When Morant reveals his identity, the waitress gasps, covers her mouth with her hands, and runs away from the table in delight.

This touching interaction – and generous tip – is not one the server is likely to forget anytime soon!
