On Thursday, Ian Fitzsimmons of ESPN Radio reported Johnson to be dealing with a broken bone in his throwing hand, which means he's potentially sidelined for the remainder of the season.

Billy Liucci of TexAgs further noted that former starter Haynes King will get the starting position in Tuscaloosa for Saturday’s game at the Crimson Tide, while true freshman Conner Weigman could also see playing time.

In Week 5's meeting against Mississippi State, Johnson left the fourth quarter of the Aggies' 42-24 loss after posting 19 of 26 completions for 203 yards and a touchdown. King finished the game, completing six of 13 passes for 49 yards and throwing two interceptions.

Head coach Jimbo Fisher made the switch to Johnson as starting quarterback for Texas A&M’s Week 3 game against Miami.

The Texas Aggies play Alabama on Saturday, with kick off set for 8:00 PM EDT.
