LSU football roars loud with four-star lineman DDJ Chester
Baton Rouge, Louisiana - LSU football has added to the feelgood atmosphere ahead of its big showdown with SEC foe Alabama this weekend by landing four-star recruit DJ Chester on Thursday!
LSU was in dire need of another quality offensive lineman for its 2023 class and in Chester, it got exactly that.
The 6-foot-5, 300-pounder Georgia native ranks as the thirteenth best offensive lineman in the country and will add huge depth to LSU's secondary.
Chester announced his pledge to the Tigers live via 247Sports, picking them over final offers from Auburn, Michigan, Florida State, and Ole Miss.
A two-sport athlete who also hails on the track as a shot put thrower, Chester reveled that LSU football will allow him to throw at the college level – one of the biggest reasons he chose the Tigers.
As a junior, Chester placed second in the shot put (52-9) and discus (153-7) events at the Georgia A Private state meet and as a sophomore, won the Georgia A Private state championships in both the shot put and discus.
Chester becomes LSU's 24th commit in the 2023 recruiting class after the program welcomed 4-star linebacker Christian Brathwaite just last week.
The commitment lunges LSU three spots in the 2023 class rankings to become the fourth-best recruiting class in the nation.
