The 24-year-old NBA star reportedly turned himself in the day after he was involved in a violent incident with a woman, who called the police after Bridges allegedly got physical with her.

He posted bail, set at $130,000, and was released, as details about what exactly happened remained unclear.

On the same day he got himself in trouble with law enforcement, Bridges got a qualifying offer from Hornets General Manager Mitch Kupchack, making him a restricted free agent.

The Michigan State alum was the 12th overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft as the Los Angeles Clipper snapped up a hot prospect. Bridges was then traded to the Hornets, where he signed a $16.3-million deal that expired this summer.

Given the numbers he posted over the past season – a 20.2 point average, almost double his previous best effort – Charlotte was expected to have a real fight on its hands to retain their player.

But Wednesday's might significantly change the calculation for potentially interested teams, who will be watching closely as more information about the incident emerges.
