Four-star quarterback Chris Parson picks Mississippi State
Starkville, Mississippi - Four-star quarterback Chris Parsons committed to the Mississippi State Bulldogs football program on Friday, becoming the program's highest recruit of its 2023 class.
Four-star quarterback Chris Parson, who decommitted from Florida State in July, found his new home in the SEC.
Parson pledged to become a Bulldog with Mississippi State football just one week before the start of his final high school season.
Ranked the No. 19 quarterback in the country and the 10th best player in the state of Tennessee, Parson picked the Bulldogs over offers from his top schools such as Virginia Tech, Texas Christian University, and Southern Methodist University.
"It felt like home," Parson shared about his relationship with the Bulldogs in his live announcement via 247 Sports on YouTube. "They took me under their wing and showed me that this was the place for me to be."
In his last season, Parson threw for 2,309 yards with 25 touchdowns to lead his team to the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) Class 6A quarterfinals. The star athlete also ran for 1,007 yards and secured 17 rushing touchdowns.
With Parson on board, Mississippi State now has 15 recruits in its 2023 class, which ranks in the top-10 in the SEC.
