UF Gators get commitment from four-star cornerback Ja'Keem Jackson
Kissimmee, Florida - Cornerbacks coach Corey Raymond of the Florida Gators has secured a big commitment from one of the top defensive backs in the nation: Ja'Keem Jackson.
It was a tough battle between top programs Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, and Auburn for the sought-after talent.
But it was the Florida Gators who prevailed to win the commitment from the four-star athlete .
"He (coach Raymond) got a good resume of producing good DBs (defensive backs)," Jackson said, explaining his decision. "He hit me up every day... we have a good relationship."
Jackson is the fourth prospect just this month to commit to the Gators, and he's not expected to be the last. Florida has a huge weekend ahead, with several top recruits potentially committing to the program.
The rising senior is the third defensive back addition to the Gators 2023 class, joining four-star players Sharif Denson and Aaron Gates.
In his latest season, the 6-foot-1 versatile player got snaps at both receiver and cornerback.
As a receiver, Jackson caught 36 passes for 548 yards and four touchdowns. In his four games on defense, he picked off the three passes and assisted his team to a 9-3 record, as well as a second round appearance in Florida's 8A playoffs.
Jackson is the Gators' third-highest ranked pledge in their 2023 class. Ranked at No. 19 among cornerbacks in the nation, his commitment moves the program up to 17 in the recruiting rankings.
