Los Angeles, California – From the ring to the big screen! UFC champion Conor Mcgregor will soon take on his first film role in the remake of the cult classic Road House.

Jake Gyllenhaal will star in the upcoming movie, but McGregor will be making waves alongside him.

"While fighting remains his top focus, this is the beginning of another successful venture in the McGregor empire," McGregor's spokesperson confirmed to ESPN of his screen debut.

"He is eager to get started filming."

The 34-year-old Irishman is still currently recovering from a serious leg injury sustained in his third fight against Dustin Poirier back on July 11, 2021. Since then, the fighter has been working on his business ventures and side hustles, making him the highest paid athlete in the world.

The original Road House is a 1989 action film starring Patrick Swayze as bouncer James Dalton.

In the remake, Gyllenhaal will portray a UFC fighter who becomes a bouncer in a Florida bar. The movie plans to start production this month in the Dominican Republic and is being produced by Amazon Prime Video.

Although he is one of the world's most popular athletes, McGregor is no stranger to the red carpet. In addition to appearing at Cannes Film Festival in the past, he infamously made headlines for fighting with Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox on the red carpet of the MTV VMAs last year.

McGregor will reportedly not play himself in the upcoming film, but a brand new character ready for action.
