Clemson Tigers secure first running back commit with Jarvis Green
Clemson, South Carolina - Just days after receiving an offer from Clemson and decommitting from James Madison football, South Carolina native Jarvis Green has officially committed to his dream school.
On Tuesday, Green chose the Clemson Tigers over his other top choice in Virginia Tech, which recently offered the running back a spot on its team. He announced his latest commitment via Twitter.
Over the summer, Green committed to James Madison but backed out of it late last week after picking up an offer from Clemson.
As the eighth running back to receive an offer from the Tigers, Green is the first to pledge and the 24th commit in Clemson's current recruiting cycle.
In his high school senior campaign, the 5-foot-9 prospect played a major role on the Dutch Fork High School football team, which recently won its sixth state title in seven years.
The talented back rushed for 2,272 yards, while averaging close to 10 yards per carry, and scored 33 rushing touchdowns. He also caught 36 passes for 527 yards and six scores.
Offensively, Green totaled more than 3,000 all-purpose yards and 41 touchdowns this year alone.
Green's pledge to the Tigers keeps Clemson's 2023 recruiting class in the top 10 in national recruiting rankings.
