On Monday evening, Arizona Athletics confirmed that the guard lost his appeal and will be suspended for participating in a non-certified pre-draft camp last spring.

The camp, Portsmouth Invitational, is designed as a "seniors only" showcase for the NBA Draft.

Fifth-year Ramey's participation fell in the gray area because the NCAA gave players an extra "Covid-19 year" after the league suspended a single year of basketball season.

The camp did not take place in 2020 or 2021 due to the pandemic.

Ramey, who already played four seasons at Texas when participating, declared for the 2022 NBA Draft and entered the NCAA transfer portal on March 31.

The 6-foot-3 ball player withdrew from draft consideration on June 1 and committed to Arizona for his final season of NCAA eligibility on June 10.

Now, Ramey will miss the Wildcats season opener on November 7 against Nicholls as well as Arizona's home games on November 11 and November 17.

His first game for the Wildcats will come on November 21 at in the Maui Invitational in Hawaii.

With Ramey missing action on the court, Arizona are aiming at a speedy return for freshman Kylan Boswell, who had foot surgery in June and recently has been medically cleared for full practices.
