Pro-life Republican Herschel Walker accused of paying for girlfriend's abortion
Atlanta, Georgia - Herschel Walker, a pro-life Republican running for Senate, allegedly paid for a woman to have an abortion, but the Georgia candidate says it's all a lie to try and keep him from winning the race.
In a scathing Daily Beast article, a woman, who asked to remain anonymous, told the outlet that Walker paid for her abortion, and she has receipts to back it up – literally.
The source apparently supplied "a $575 receipt from the abortion clinic, a 'get well' card from Walker, and a bank deposit receipt that included an image of a signed $700 personal check from Walker."
When asked why she has decided to come forward, the woman brought up Walker's staunch anti-abortion position.
"I just can’t with the hypocrisy anymore," she told the outlet. "We all deserve better."
Walker is currently entrenched in a heated race for senate in Georgia. He's neck and neck with his Democratic opponent and incumbent Raphael Warnock. The winner of the race will also go a long way in deciding which political party will control the Senate.
Since the Supreme Court’s repeal of Roe v. Wade back in July, abortion has become even more of a hot-button issue. Walker in particular has been unapologetically anti-abortion, even in cases of rape, incest, or the health of the mother, which he has labeled as "excuses."
While countless allegations show that he may have lied about his past, Walker insists that they are all political attacks to try and keep him from the senate.
Herschel Walker responds to the allegations
Robert Ingram, Herschel Walker's campaign and personal lawyer, immediately responded to the Daily Beast's claims.
"This is a false story," he explained. "All you want to do is run with stories to target Black conservatives."
Walker took to Twitter to post his own response, stating, "This is another repugnant hatchet job from a democrat activist disguised as a reporter who has obsessively attacked my family and tried to tear me down since this race started."
"They will do anything to hold onto power," he added. "It's disgusting, gutter politics."
Walker's own son Christian Walker responded to the scandal on Twitter, defending the allegations and insisting his father "stopped lying and making a mockery" of him and his mother.
"You're not a 'family man' when you left us to bang a bunch of women, threatened to kill us, and had us move over 6 times in 6 months running from violence," he added.
Georgia voters will head to the polls on November 8 to decide if Herschel Walker deserves the position.
