Armed man arrested outside official residence of Vice President Kamala Harris

Washington DC – A man carrying a gun and ammunition was arrested outside Vice President Kamala Harris' official residence, according to police reports.

The suspect is 31-year-old Paul Murray of San Antonio, Texas, according to CNN. The Secret Service detained the man before the Metropolitan Police arrived at the scene.

The police report says Murray had an "AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, 113 rounds of unregistered ammunition, and five 30 round magazines" in his possession.

He is now facing charges of carrying a dangerous weapon, carrying a rifle or shotgun outside of a business, possession of unregistered ammunition, and possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device.

Fortunately, Harris and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff were not present at the time of the arrest.

The pair has been living at Blair House near the White House while the Naval Observatory is under repair.
