Trump holds first campaign-style rally since leaving office
Wellington, Ohio – Donald Trump drew huge crowds on Saturday at his first rally since leaving office.
Trump was in Ohio to support Max Miller in his run to represent the state's 16th congressional district in the upcoming 2022 midterms. Miller was deputy campaign manager of Trump's unsuccessful 2020 presidential campaign.
Trump took the opportunity to air his grievances to a crowd of roaring fans, especially concerning his 2020 electoral loss, claiming, "They used Covid to steal the election."
He had a particular bone to pick with Miller's main rival, Rep. Anthony Gonzalez, who was one of ten Republicans to vote in favor of impeachment after the January 6 Capitol attack. "He’s a sellout and fake Republican," the ex-president said of incumbent congressman, as reported by Politico.
Before Trump took the stage, controversial Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene spoke to the crowd and called for the firing of infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci.
She also singled out progressive Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, calling her a "little communist from New York City" and "not an American."
"Yeah, lock her up too. That's a good idea," she concluded.
AOC clapped back on Twitter in typical sassy-but-classy fashion, writing simply, "First of all, I'm taller than her."
Trump fanatics may have been hoping for an official 2024 presidential campaign announcement. Though the ex-president fell short of announcing a bid, he didn't rule one out either, instead hinting, "We won the election twice, and it's possible we might have to win it a third time. It's possible."
