Donald Trump tried to have an explicit tweet by Chrissy Teigen taken down
Washington, DC - In a bizarre turn of events, an explicit 2019 tweet from Chrissy Teigen mocking Donald Trump has somehow made its way into the US Congressional record.
You probably never expected to hear this in Congress.
On Wednesday, the House Oversight Committee held a hearing to investigate the role of Twitter in suppressing a New York Post article about Hunter Biden.
Anika Collier Navaroli, a former member of Twitter's US Safety Policy team, was questioned about an exchange between then-President Trump and Teigen in 2019 which began with the 76-year-old insulting Teigen and her husband, John Legend.
His tweet called Legend "boring" and referred to the 37-year-old model as his "filthy mouthed wife."
The new mom of three held nothing back in her clap back to Trump, and Navaroli's testimony revealed that the White House quickly reached out to her team in an attempt to have it taken down.
In a pretty hilarious exchange for a Congress hearing, Navaroli was asked by Representative Maxwell Frost to share the specifics of Teigen's retort.
"Please excuse my language, this is a direct quote, but Chrissy Teigen referred to Donald Trump as a 'p***y a** b***h," she told Congress.
Teigen shared the viral clip from Navaroli's testimony with the caption, "I...oh my god."
The surreal moment has caused quite a stir on social media, with one user telling Frost the moment could only have been better if he responded, "Okay, no lies detected."
"i should've tbh," Frost replied.
