Stuntman gets tattooed in a tub of bean dip for a good cause
Chatsworth, California - Some people will go to extremes to show support for their favorite restaurants – Hunter Ray Barker is one of them! When the stuntman realized his favorite Mexican restaurant was struggling, he decided to take matters into his own hands.
Los Toros is a place that's always been dear to Barker, who said in a Facebook post that he and his family visited the restaurant for every special moment in their lives over the last two decades.
To show his love, he vowed to sit in a tub full of the restaurant's bean dip for 24 hours to draw in customers and save his favorite restaurant from going under.
Barker, who operates the Stunt Players Directory, was adorned in a pair of pants, a t-shirt, and a mask – all adorned with the Los Toros bull logo – to give the restaurant even more clout. But he took it all one step further!
While soaking in the tub of his favorite bean dip, Barker got the restaurant's logo, which includes three bulls, tattooed onto him during the stunt.
To up the ante and make sure people weren't just coming out to witness his strange stunt, Barker gave out gift cards and deals on meals and margaritas to-go, so people would actually spend money and time enjoying the food and drinks that defined his life.
Barker vowed to give back to his favorite restaurant
Los Toros has been serving up tasty Mexican meals since 1967. At the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, the restaurant made and delivered meals to ICU staffers, and they've also been known to feed the homeless.
When Barker learned they were struggling to stay afloat, he vowed to do something about it. In an interview with Reuters, Barker said, "We have a golden opportunity to grab the bull by the horns and support local businesses in a big explosive way and so why not?”
The most complicated aspect of his 24-hour stunt was the bathroom situation.
The stuntman said that he had a funnel connected to a bag outside the tub for going no.1, but when it came to no. 2, Barker just had to go on a wing and a prayer that he wouldn't have any uncontrollable bowel movements.
In the end, no natural disasters occurred, and a light had been shed on Los Toros that's sure to last for months to come.
