Self-proclaimed tattoo addict gets banned from her kids' Christmas play

Wales, UK - A heavily tattooed mom claims she was forced to watch her children's Christmas play through a window due to her appearance.

Facing judgement for her looks isn't new to Melissa Sloan. But one would think that the mother could get a break from the noise in the name of the holiday season.

However, according to Sloan, that's far from the truth. Per the Daily Star, the inked mom claimed she's been repeatedly forbidden from entering the building to watch her children partake in their yearly Christmas play. Instead, she was told to watch it through a window from outside.

"They said once for me to go to the back garden [and] look through the class window," Sloan told the outlet. "The teachers told me to do that, [and] that's why I don't go to the school play."

Her children's nativity play isn't the only school function she's been barred from attending, either. According to Sloan, she's seldom invited to any event at her kids' school, forcing her to lean heavily on her partner, Luke, to physically be there for the kids.

Sloan said he was taking her place at "the kids' [fair] as I can't go there as I'm not wanted." She continued to say that it does make her "jealous." But ultimately, she admitted what "they're [teachers] like to me" when she shows up isn't worth it.

As far as her tattoo journey during the holidays, Sloan said she'll be taking a momentary pause.

"I'll leave that as it's our time. I'll be selfish if I have one around Christmas," she stated. "It's their [the children's] time, it's not about me."

"I'll go for the glory after [Christmas]. I can't wait to get back to normal," Sloan concluded.
