Forever young: this 56-year-old lady is covered in tattoos and has no plans to stop
Temecula, California - A tatted-up 56-year-old woman on TikTok is out to prove that tattoos don’t have age limits. This is one woman in docs that'll stay forever young.
If Lonni Pike wore gloves, sleeves, and pants all day every day, you’d never guess that she was covered in ink.
But, she is, and she has no interest in hiding that, or her deeply-rooted love of Doc Martens, the shoe brand that’s gained a ton of traction with Gen Z and millennials over the last few years.
Lonni has no time for age stereotypes when it comes to her tattoos or her fashion choices, and to be honest, no one should be.
That’s why she’s dedicated her entire TikTok account to showing people that you can have arm sleeves, stomach tats, a stellar collection of vintage and new-age Doc Martens, and a vibrant style whether you’re fifteen or 72. To her, age is an obsolete matter.
Why does Lonni have so many tattoos?
In one of her videos, Lonni explains why she created her page, saying "I wanted to show the younger tattoo generation what it’s gonna look like when you’re in your 50s. No, you’re not gonna regret them. No, they’re not gonna look terrible, and no, they’re not going to ruin your life."
She continues: "I wanted to show the generation in their 50s that it’s never too late to get your first tattoo. It’s never too late to start expressing yourself."
"Wear what you want and have a good day": 56-year-old woman with tattoos celebrates her ink
Many of Lonni's TikToks are focused on comments she’s received about being the age she is with an ever-expanding tattoo collection, or about her eclectic clothing choices that include the likes of ripped up jeans, a leopard print lace top, and a biker jacket.
She’s constantly doing unboxing videos of new clothing staples she’s adding to her wardrobe, and styling videos showcasing how there’s no such thing as age appropriate style, because true style has no age limits.
One comment that many tattoo fans hear is that they’ll regret them when they’re older. This is something Lonni addresses to her following on a regular basis, given that she’s technically in the "older" category.
Spoiler: She regrets none of them. In fact, she’s constantly getting more. Her most recent? A floral hand tattoo.
In terms of her style choices, Lonni shares that she receives a lot of comments saying she’s too old to be dressing like a teenager, or that she should wear things that are more in-line with her age. The best part is, she truly doesn’t care what anyone has to say about her sense of style, because it’s what makes her feel the most comfortable and the most herself.
She even has a signature sign-off phrase to her TikToks that should be echoed around the world until the end of time: "Wear what you want, and have a good day."
