Miracle at sea: Wedding ring lost on beach found on couple's anniversary
Bristol, UK - After losing her wedding ring while surfing, Jenny Urquhart from Bristol had no hope of ever getting it back.
Nevertheless, the 45-year-old was willing to take a chance, sharing a sketch of the ring on Twitter on May 12.
Along with the drawing, Urquhart wrote that she had lost the wedding band at Saunton Sands in Bristol on May 7, attaching a picture marking the approximate location on the beach.
The Brit hoped that someone with a metal detector might get in touch with her, but she didn't hear anything for a while, the Daily Star reported.
"I just thought that's it, it's going to be swallowed by a big fish," the artist said, according to the report.
But then, around two months later, a metal detectorist named Mark got in touch with Urquhart to tell her that he'd had a search along the beach.
He asked her for a more precise description of the spot where she had lost the ring. Full of hope, Urquhart sent him a sketch.
Jenny Urquhart's husband notices something special
Shortly after, Mark contacted Urquhart again and wrote: "Guess what!" He'd found the piece of jewelry!
The stunned wife couldn't believe her eyes.
"I showed my husband Mark's message and he said it was our wedding anniversary – I'd completely forgotten!"
What a special moment!
"Stuart looked as amazed as me," she continued.
"It's just a thing, it's not a terribly valuable ring – but losing it was gutting really. I'm just so grateful."
