Rome, Italy – Chiara was only 11 when she got her first piercing. Six years and 40 procedures later, body modification has become a lifestyle for the sexy Italian.

This obsession is less about getting attention from others, and more about an attempt to stay true to herself and who she really is deep down.

Currently, Chiara has 20 facial piercings, two brandings, 12 scarifications – essentially tattoos minus the ink – and six subdermal implants. In case that doesn't sound that extreme, she also had her eyeballs tattooed and her labia stretched.

"If I didn’t feel at peace with myself I wouldn’t keep doing this. This is all very natural to me, I don’t have regrets," she told the Metro.

The 19-year-old said that most of her piercings have been done by her or her boyfriend, Michele, who tattooed her eyes. It was the first time Michele had ever carried out the procedure, which comes with high risk for even the most skilled artist.

Luckily for Chiara, things went smoothly and the risk paid off. Piercings and eye tattoos aren't the only thing Michele has helped with.

His favorite modification he's had a hand in helping with is one that the couple has been working on for a while – stretching out her labia minora, and adding implants into her labia majora.

Though Chiara said she now walks with a limp because of the two procedures, she's relatively happy with how things have turned out. And she insisted that all

"My need for modification is not dictated by the need for attention or to be seen at all costs. It’s a personal need. Everything I do is for myself," she told Metro.

There's no slowing down Chiara: she's now planning on getting implants in her scalp and titanium horns in her forehead.
