Runnemede, New Jersey - A history-making uniform has become the GOAT, just like its former owner. Tom Brady's former uniform has become the most expensive NFL jersey ever sold.

An American Football jersey worn by Tom Brady sold at auction over the weekend for $480,000, making it the most expensive NFL jersey ever sold, according to ESPN.

The anonymous buyer, who made the purchase from the Goldin auction house, will receive the Tampa Bay Buccaneers jersey with Brady's number 12 on the back.

Tom Brady's jersey is covered in signatures, as well as a number of references to symbolic moments in his football career.

On the white numbers are several inscriptions which make the jersey stand out. It notes the game's date – January 3, 2021 – Brady's game statistics from his 44-27 win over the Atlanta Falcons, and the signature of the most successful quarterback in the history of the league.

But the best feature of all? Brady signed "G.O.A.T." - the Greatest Of All Time – on the bottom.

The astronomical sale broke the record set just last month by another Brady jersey. In December, a Brady game-worn autographed jersey sold for $320,500 with NFL Auction. All the proceeds went to charity.

Brady is widely heralded as the greatest player to compete in the NFL, and has continued his football career for more than 20 years. It's no wonder that his former uniform has become the most expensive NFL jersey in the world.
