'Tis the season for shopping 'til you drop.

You may find yourself making outrageous Christmas lists filled with items you might not want to splurge on yourself, but wouldn't mind others doing so on your behalf.

If there was ever a time to shoot your shot when it comes to your wants for a gift, it's during the holiday season. After all, the answer is always no unless you ask!

As strange as it might sound, there are many people who struggle to pinpoint the items they want, making the thought of sitting down to craft a Christmas list feel like a winless battle.

If you're struggling to think of what you might want this Christmas and your list is looking as bare as an undecorated tree, we've put together the season's hottest trends and hot-ticket items to add to your list.

From platform slippers and gaming devices, to cross-body sling bags and snap-up faux leather jackets, here are several items begging for a spot on your 2021 Christmas list.

Puffer Coats and Faux Leather Button-Ups

You've seen them all over your TikTok and Instagram feeds, but do you have a puffer coat or faux leather snap-up jacket in your closet?

If the answer is no, then it looks like you might've just found the first two items to add to your list.

It's true that puffer coats of varying lengths and colors are having a serious moment right now.

Like many trends that caught wind in the '90s, the puffer coat has re-entered the group chat in 2021.

This staple either serves as a heartwarming blast from the past for older generations, or as recycled fashion-forward inspiration for those who weren't around for its glory days.

Stores like Zara, CottonOn, and even Nordstrom Rack have a variety of puffer coats this season to fit anyone's unique style.

Let us not forget about the legendary long-sleeved faux leather button or snap-up jacket that also deserves a spot in your wardrobe's starting lineup – especially if someone is kind enough to gift it to you this holiday season.

If you've ever dreamt of looking like a backup dancer that just walked off the set of a boy band's music video from the '80s or '90s, then you owe it to yourself to add this iconic item to your list.

The added element of snap-up buttons are the cherry on top for this grungy but chic winter staple.

Platform Slippers and Matching Sweatsuits

Regardless of where you live, everyone needs a pair of solid slippers for those midnight strolls to the corner store or that 8 AM walk to the kitchen for your first cup of coffee.

Luckily, slippers are also super on-trend right now, specifically platform slippers like these from UGG.

If you're thinking you can only wear these around the house, you're wrong.

The soles of UGG's slippers are durable, as if made for embarking into the real world – whether that be the grocery store or lunch with friends. AKA, the only thing stopping you from wearing this style of slippers out to the bars is you.

While doing so isn't recommended, you'd definitely be able to get away with it.

The same could be said for matching sweatsuits, though this might be harder to sell on a Saturday night at the hottest bar in town unless you're a Kim Kardashian or Hailey Bieber.

Given the fact that oversized matching sweatsuits are extremely on-trend and often worn by celebs like Justin Bieber and Billie Eilish, it wouldn't hurt to have at least one matching pair in your wardrobe.

You can be bougie or basic with this ask, as a range of brands carries matching sweatsuit sets. From PacSun to Balenciaga, there's a sweatsuit out there for every budget and taste.

Hoka's and Combat Boots

If you're a runner, or simply want to dress as if you are one, then adding a pair of Hoka running or walking shoes to your list would be a wise choice.

These sneakers are perfect for a marathon, a leisure 5K, or even a Sunday brunch date with your crew.

If the brand Hoka sounds familiar, it might be because many men from Bachelor Nation, including Tyler Cameron and former Bachelor lead, Matt James, were seen wearing customized Hoka's at the New York Marathon on November 7.

Not to mention celebrity podcaster Amanda Hirsch of Not Skinny But Not Fat has been raving about her Hoka's on her Instagram Stories for nearly a month.

If sneaks aren't your cup of tea, then why not add a pair of combat boots to your closet?

You know what they say: If you can't beat them, join them. And that's essentially how the whole combat boot trend has evolved to now include the everyday masses outside of Hollywood.

Given the number of celebs that have been spotted donning Dr. Martens or Louboutin combat boots in recent months, this trend likely isn't going away anytime soon. So you might as well pick your poison price-wise and add one or the other to the ole Christmas list.

Of course, there's more to the holidays than the gift-giving – and receiving – that often goes hand-in-hand with this time of year.

But if someone happens to ask what you might want, or a friend needs help brainstorming their own list, you now know some on-trend ideas to throw their way.
