Last Monday night, a man suddenly opened fire inside a movie theater in Corona on the outskirts of Los Angeles, killing Barajas and Goodrich as they sat and enjoyed a film together.

The two were on a first date watching The Forever Purge when the suspect opened fire. His motive remains unclear.

18-year-old Goodrich died instantly. 19-year-old Barajas was found alive by theater employees shortly after, and was attended to by first responders. He was taken to a hospital and placed on life support.

However, the injuries to his brain were too severe, and he passed away on Saturday morning, according to the LA Times.

His family announced that his organs were immediately donated.

Barajas had more than one million followers on TikTok, where he filmed his various adventures and fun-filled escapades with his family.

The Corona Police issued a statement: "We extend our thoughts and condolences to his family and friends."

Just one day after the horrific crime, police tracked down 20-year-old Jospeh Jimenez, finding a weapon matching his victims' wounds and other evidence linking him to the scene.

Jimenez has been charged with one count of murder with an enhanced charge of personal use of a firearm causing death, one count of attempted murder with an additional change of personally inflicting great bodily injury, and robbery by the Riverside County district attorney’s office. The charges also list the caveat that he was "lying in wait."

Sources told detectives he said he had been hearing voices beforehand.

ABC News reported that prosecutors are now weighing whether a death penalty could be considered for the 20-year-old.

He has since been held in pretrial detention without bail.

Most tragically, the crime appears to be an "unprovoked attack" according to police. Thus far, investigators have found no link between the victims and their killer.
