Man accused of killing his girlfriend then trying to sell car with her body inside
Nashville, Tennessee - Not only has Robert Miquel Johnson been accused of murdering his girlfriend. According to a witness, he also tried to sell her car with her body in the back seat.
On Monday afternoon, an arrest warrant was sworn out for Robert Miquel Johnson in connection with the death of his partner, Pamela Paz.
The 44-year-old's body was found on May 2 in a parking area underneath the Briley Parkway overpass in Nashville.
According to a Metropolitian Nashville Police Department press release, an autopsy has now determined that she died from neck trauma, most likely strangulation.
Johnson was quickly identified as a suspect during the course of the investigation and was brought in for questioning, where he allegedly gave false information about his whereabouts at the time of the killing.
"He was interviewed and provided an alibi, which was subsequently proven to be false," police said.
Detectives have since been able to track down a witness who claimed Johnson tried to sell Paz's Dodge Charger with her corpse in the back seat the day before her body was found.
The 31-year-old suspect is currently in custody in Wilson County on an unrelated charge and will be transferred to Nashville in the near future.
There he will be booked for murder in Paz's death.
So far, no information about a possible motive for his gruesome crime has been published.
