On Thursday, the Ferris Police Department announced their unusual discovery.

"Someone dropped their refrigerator loaded with marijuana on S/B Interstate 45," officers wrote on Facebook.

They added, jokingly: "To whomever lost their valuables, please come claim it at the Ferris PD and we will be more than happy to assist you."

Ferris residents responded to the post in good humor. One wrote: "Just seen a washer or dryer under 20 and I45. Might want to sniff that out."

Others commented on the apparent quality of the product: "Looks like bud from the early 2000s. Trash. But still very funny."

It remains to be seen whether the owner of the fridge will take up the police's kind offer to reclaim their lost possession.

The origins of the fridge and the reason for its abandonment are still a mystery.
